About
Ride public transit anywhere, without the guesswork.
Public transit is one of the best ways to see a city — if you can figure out how to use it. Public Rides removes the guesswork, one city at a time.
Each guide answers the same practical questions: how do I pay, which app should I download, how do I get from the airport downtown, and what are the local quirks. No jargon, no assumptions that you already live there.
How the guides are made
Guides start as researched drafts — every fare and fact traced back to an official source, listed at the bottom of each guide. A guide stays marked Draft until it has been reviewed, then it's published. Transit changes constantly, so every guide shows when it was last researched and checked.
Two honest halves
Public Rides also has a data side at public-rides.org — frequency scorecards and an interactive map of how often service runs at every stop. The two work together: the guides tell you how to ride, the data tells you how well it runs. Flip between them with the Ride ⇄ Data switch in the header.
